Welcome from the President
[Russian] [Spanish]
Welcome to the Office of the President at Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC)! I hope you find your cyber visit as informative and energizing as you will find a visit to one of the College's many locations. I invite you to explore this Web site and learn about our innovative initiatives and programs, meet our remarkable employees and understand our guiding principles and values, which were established more than 40 years ago and have helped shape MHCC into the outstanding academic institution it is today.
Since becoming MHCC's sixth president on July 1, 2008, I've discovered that
the College's employees and students are eager to scale new heights and achieve
new summits. As with any expedition or journey, planning is the key to success.
Therefore, I am conducting Listening Tours to learn more about how MHCC can
assist our communities meet their education and training needs. To learn more
about the Listening Tours, or to participate in or recommend a location for
one, please visit www.mhcc.edu.
The College remains committed to helping students achieve their dreams and conquer their educational goals. In fact, I believe, there is no better time to come to MHCC, a comprehensive community college, to seek a degree, explore a new career, take university transfer credit classes, enroll in credit-free training and/or personal enrichment classes, or engage in the many exciting and diverse social, cultural and athletic events hosted at one of MHCC's three locations.
The College is an exceptional place to explore your potential, discover new skills and interests and, ultimately, change the destiny of your life! But you don't have to take my word for it. Just ask any of the more than 950 graduates and 27,656 credit and credit-free students that attended during 2007-08, how MHCC has impacted their lives, and you will learn firsthand how the College can help you reach your peak potential. If, after surfing our Web site, you have educational or community service needs that we can meet, please e-mail me at ourmhcc@mhcc.edu. In addition, if you have questions about the admissions process and how to get started on your educational journey, please contact the Admissions, Registration and Records Office at 503-491-7393.
Thank you!
