2009-2010 Annual Childrens Theatre Production: The Emperors Dragon
The Emperors Dragon is a tall tale that takes place long ago in feudal Japan. Orphaned as a child and forced to live with his cantankerous uncle, Torao is a boy who can never seem to do the right thing. But, when he stumbles upon the Emperors lost baby dragon, he becomes determined to return the hatchling to its mother on Mt. Fuji. Torao must first escape the clutches of his crazy uncle, a local warlord, and the greatest Shogun in all of Japan. But when the mother dragon seeks revenge for her stolen hatchling and Torao exhibits an ancient and mystical power, its anyones guess as to who takes home the coveted Emperors dragon.
Auditions are September 21 and 23 at 10:00 am in the Studio Theatre. Enrollment in TA153D or TA253D is required. Please contact the theater office with any questions at 503-491-6969.
Performance Dates:
School groups - 10:30 am on selected weekdays, November 9th, 12th, 13th, 16th, 18th and 20th
School groups may make reservations by calling the MHCC Performing Arts Box Office at 503-491-7154, ext. 1. Early registration is encouraged, as seating is limited and performances have sold out in previous years. For more information, contact the Performing Arts office at 503-491-6969.
General public performance - 2:00 pm on Saturday November 21st no reservation needed
All performances are in the Mt. Hood Community College Theater.
Tickets:
$2.00 per person. Teachers should collect the entrance fee from their students and pay at the door on the day of the performance. The MHCC Theatre Department is committed to presenting quality entertainment for the community at affordable prices. As in the past, no one will be turned away because of inability to pay.
