Often this creativity is hidden, just needing the right encouragement to come forth, but once found, it is always astonishing in its uniqueness and carries with it great joy and energy for that person. Monica Rees says I like to be able to teach people that they can learn from books and they can read patterns. I also like to help people think outside the pattern, that it is really a starting place, a kind of spring board from which they can launch their own ideas. The thing that I really love about knitting is that you take two sticks and a piece of string and turn that string into a three dimensional object that has warmth, depth, color, texture and function. Knitting is art, both aesthetic and functional. It never ceases to amaze me. I really enjoy helping people see that. Whatever your level of knitting, you will enjoy this class and sharing with other knitters.
