TRIO Student Support Services is a federally funded grant program that has been serving students at MHCC since Fall 2001. The goal of SSS is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants and facilitate the process of transition from one level of higher education to the next. It is designed to provide academic and ancillary support to low-income students, first generation college students, and students with disabilities.

The TRIO Student Support Services Program at Mt. Hood Community College is committed to increasing student retention and transfer to 4-year institutions through:
- Supportive, proficient, and accessible programs, services, and staff
- Quality advising, counseling, teaching, and advocacy
- Acknowledgement and appreciation for individual diversity and resilience
Through this commitment, our goal is to empower students to make positive life choices, adapt to a changing world that requires new responsibilities and skills, and create and maintain supportive connections and communities.
