High School Senior Scholaships
The following is a list of scholarships available by program. If interested, check with the Office of Financial Aid for more information regarding each scholarship. (Link to Scholarship Application - PDF Format)
Mt. Hood Community College Latino Club Scholarship Fund for District High School Seniors
The purpose of the Mt. Hood Community College Latino Club Scholarship Fund shall be to provide one MHCC District High School Senior student (see page one) with $500.00 scholarship to be applied toward tuition and fees at MHCC.
The scholarship will be used for Fall Term 2008 and the amount is $500.00
Applicant must:
Be of Latino ancestry.
Become a member of the MHCC MEChA Club and submit written confirmation of MEChA club membership from MEChA club advisor Al Sigala in order to apply and receive scholarship.
Be a registered MHCC student carrying a minimum of 6 credit hours during the term the scholarship is in effect.
Submit a brief statement outlining students involvement in the Latino community.
Submit one letter of recommendation supporting nomination.
Have a satisfactory 2.5 GPA in order to apply for the scholarship and maintain 2.5 GPA each term the scholarship remains in effect. Will forfeit all or remaining scholarship monies if student withdraws from MHCC.
Scholarship may be used for tuition and fees; no cash will be disbursed.
Mt. Hood Community College Hospitality and Tourism Club
The purpose of the Hospitality and Tourism Club Scholarship shall be to recognize a Hospitality and Tourism program High School Senior student with a scholarship.
The scholarship will be used for Fall Term 2008 and the amount is $500.00 (two available).
Applicant must:
Be a High School Senior with a 3.0 GPA at the time of application and a declared major in Hospitality and Tourism at the time of enrollment at MHCC. Allotment disbursed to recipient upon completion of enrollment and verification of declared major.
Be a full-time student at the time the scholarship is in effect.
Submit two letters of recommendation supporting nomination, one of which must be from a High School instructor.
Scholarship may be used for tuition, fees or books; no cash will be disbursed.
Mt. Hood Community College Sam Kosta Memorial Scholarship for Sandy High School Seniors
The purpose of the Sam Kosta Memorial Scholarship for Sandy High School Seniors shall be to recognize and honor a student of excellence and need with a scholarship for the Ford ASSET program.
The scholarship will be used for Summer Term 2008 and the amount is $500.00.
Applicant must:
Be a current Sandy High School Senior
Plan to study the Ford ASSET program at MHCC.
Be sponsored by a participating auto dealership.
Must declare Automotive Technology as their major at MHCC.
Be a registered MHCC student carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours during each term the scholarship is in effect.
Submit a brief statement outlining students goals.
Submit two letters of recommendation supporting nomination.
Demonstrate financial need.
Have a 2.5 GPA from previous high school or college courses (submit transcripts).
