General Academic Scholarships
The following is a list of scholarships available by program. If interested, check with the Office of Financial Aid for more information regarding each scholarship. (Link to Scholarship Application - PDF Format)
American Association Of University Women Scholarship, Gresham Branch
Scholarship is for female second-year student in a planned program of study. Student must be on track to graduate in the spring of the second year.
Classified Association Scholarship*
Must be enrolled full-time in a two-year professional program.
Complete Your Dream Scholarship
This scholarship provides tuition for one academic year to a second-year student. Applicant must have completed a minimum 36 credit hours in a 2-year degree program.
The Great Expectations Scholarship
Scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled at MHCC.
Dr. Earl L. Klapstein Founding President Memorial Scholarship*
A full-year tuition waiver for a student having attended MHCC full-time at least two previous quarters and is working toward completing either a one-year certificate program or an associate's degree.
Dr. Earl L. Klapstein President Emeritus Award for Excellence
This award provides funds to enable MHCC staff, program volunteers or student leaders to visit a location to study a community college program that is demonstrating excellence, with the intent of bringing that knowledge back to benefit MHCC.
The John Lim/Gresham Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarship
This award provides a full-time student with one year of tuition at MHCC.
MHCC Foundation Scholarship for English as a Non-native Language (ENL) Students
A $500 scholarship to provide assistance to full-time student enrolled in ENL classes. Must be enrolled in ENL classes; have primary language other than English.
MHCC Foundation Scholarships for Part-Time Students
A scholarship for tuition for part-time credit hours and a textbook allowance of up to $75 awarded to students enrolling in MHCC classes.
MHCC Latino Club Scholarship
Scholarship for a first-year student. Must carry a minimum of 6 hours during the term the scholarship is in effect. Student must become a member of the MHCC Latino Club before or during the term the scholarship is in effect.
MHCC Neighborhood Saints Scholarship
Scholarship for full or part-time student.
Raymond and Vivian Murhammer Endowed Scholarship
One-year scholarship for full or part-time student.
Shelie Macias Memorial Scholarship
One year of tuition awarded to a Hispanic/Latino full-time student. Must be participating in the MHCC ESL program.
Sequel Scholarship for GED Graduates
This scholarship is for a MHCC GED graduate from the SEQUEL program. Applicant must be enrolled in a minimum of seven credit hours including: HD100-College Success and EL115C-Advanced Study Skills and take the College Placement Test (CPT).
ENL Scholarship
A $500 scholarship to provide financial assistance to ENL students entering into ENL94 classes, or above.
The Pepsi Bottling Group Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled at MHCC.
Betty and R.E. “Poly” Schedeen Leadership Award
This award provides one term of tuition assistance to a person who has demonstrated leadership in high school, at MHCC, or in the community.
Scholarship Endowment Fund
One term's tuition awarded to a full-time student having completed 36 credit hours in a 2-year degree program or 12 credit hours in a certificate program.
The Sed and Betty Stuart Scholarship
One term's tuition awarded to a student having completed 12 credit hours.
Study Abroad Scholarship
A scholarship for a full-time student who has completed 36 credit hours at MHCC before beginning a study abroad program.
Supervisory Association Scholarship for Part-Time Students*
Student must be enrolled in an employment skills upgrading class.
Juan Young Scholarship
Preference will be given to individuals who are lineal descendents of former Kienow's employees. Recipients at the time of application must be under the age of 21, be a resident of Oregon and be must have applied to MHCC as a full time student. Award is for tuition assistance.
Glenn Otto Community Service Award Scholarship
Provides one year tuition for fulltime new or current MHCC student who demonstrates a personal philosophy of and commitment to community service.
