Now that you have the information to start you search, here are some tips:

Searching for scholarships takes time. Plan enough time in your schedule to do effective searches. The Internet searches take less time than searching through books, but it still takes lots of time. Scholarships are available throughout the year, with an increase in available scholarships from December to June for the following academic year. Plan to spend at least an hour per week to get started on your search.
Once you have done your search and have some scholarships to review, look at the eligibility requirements. If you do not meet the requirements, do not apply. You will just be wasting time that you could be spending on scholarships that you do qualify for.
Apply for as many scholarships for which you qualify. The more applications that you submit, the greater your chances for success. Be sure to include all of the required information, essays, transcripts and letters of recommendation.
