Oregon Business and Professional Women’s Foundation

Women’s Opportunity Award
This is a scholarship for women who are head of household. This is a national Soroptimist scholarship, which includes local, regional and national competitions. The local scholarship is for educational related expenses in the amount of $1,000. Deadline Dec. 15. Contact info: Soroptimist International of Gresham, P.O. Box 802, Gresham, OR 97030. Leslie S. Parker Memorial Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship is for Oregon women who have completed two years of college. Instructions are provided on how to obtain a required recommendation from the local Order of the Eastern Star of Oregon. April deadline. Contact info: applications and contact info can be found on the scholarship board in the Financial Aid office in the fall.

Ford Family
The Ford Family Foundation offers three generous scholarships, one specifically for single parents. Apply for these through the Student Assistance Commission- see below. |

Ford Opportunity Scholarship
This scholarship is for single parents pursuing a bachelor’s degree. This is a full scholarship, which can pay up to 90% of your unmet college costs, including childcare and living expenses.

Ford Scholars Scholarship
This is a full scholarship for a 4-year degree. Any community college student may apply.

Ford Restart Scholarship
This scholarship is for adult students (age 26 or older) seeking a certificate, 2 year, or 4-year degree.

Oregon Student Assistance Commission
Apply for dozens of scholarships in one application through OSAC. Deadline is March 1st- application forms available in Financial Aid office. For more info contact: (541) 687-7388 or (800) 452-8807, ext. 7388 www.osac.state.or.us. (This is the application for all the Ford scholarships.)

The Oregon Elks Vocational Grant
This scholarship offers $1,000 to any Oregon citizen who plans to pursue a 2-year or less vocational training program. The Gresham Elks Lodge sponsors a scholarship with an April 1st deadline. ESA Foundation
The ESA Foundation offers 27 scholarships to Oregon students covering a wide range of eligibility categories, including returning adult students. Apply for only one. Must be postmarked by Feb 1st. PSU Scholarships
Students who plan to transfer to PSU may search for scholarships at www.pdx.edu/finaid/scholarships.html/ Application deadlines for all PSU scholarships: February 1. PSU has several specific scholarships for returning women as well as minority students and students with disabilities.
