Base Camp Equipment Manager
Job Description:
Organize and manage inventory of expedition gear; help organize gear for specific Education Outdoors (EO) trips; maintain accurate records of gear check-out and check in; wash and store gear post-trip; prep and maintain first aid kits to EO standards; organize and maintain map collection; help promote EO events; manage Excel database.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of computer software, especially Excel; ability to learn new systems quickly; organized with a good work ethic; currently in the Education Outdoors program.
Wage: $8.00-9.00 an hour
Shifts: Flexible shifts available that will vary by quarter

Clerical Assistant for Research and Planning
Job Description:
Assist the Director of Research, the Research Assistant and the Office Assistant Program Specialist with general office duties. Finding and filing reports & records; data entry to keep databases current; receptionist duties, including doing the incoming and outgoing mail; working on special projects & running errands; other duties as needed by office staff.
Qualifications:
Must possess filing skills as defined by OA244 for keeping files current and working with the Access Publications Shell database; working experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 2000 (Word, Access, and Excel) and MS Outlook programs; the ability to use a multi-line phone and transfer calls; to know how to use fax and copy machines. Must be physically able to sit, stoop, bend, lift up to 30 pounds upon occasion and run errands on campus

Pool Maintenance in Aquatics
Job Description:
Help with maintaining the two pools and the grounds surrounding them; assist in the purification, sanitation & maintenance program; maintain & organize operation areas for safety & cleanliness; perform custodial duties as directed; participate in workshops, in-service programs, & classes related to pool operation & maintenance.
Qualifications:
Should possess mechanical abilities & have some pool treatment experience; possess mature judgment in handling chemicals; must know how to swim; speak English fluently & have the ability to lift 50 lbs; work independently to initiate and complete projects. The work is outdoors with repetitive movements. Must pass a background check.

Risk Management Program Assistant
Job Description:
Provides administrative support for projects, research, compiling and analyzing data, creating forms and documents, and preparing reports and recommendations. Office support duties such as taking messages, filing, ordering office supplies, reviewing and proofreading risk management documents, and other office related duties. Assists in meeting program strategic goals by developing systems, policies, and procedures for the identification, collection, and analysis of risk-related information. Provides excellent customer service both in person and on the phone.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and previous office experience. Must have the ability to problem-solve, interpret data, and make decisions that could impact others; excellent oral and written skills, including editing, proofreading, and note-taking skills; requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Good work ethic; and ability to make independent judgments and take initiative on assignments that are sensitive in nature. Must pass a background check.
Wage: $11.00-13.00/hour depending on experience.

Welding Lab Assistant
Job Description:
Perform layout and cutting of class practice materials. Fabricate and weld metal brackets, fixtures and assorted tooling following dimensioned sketches and prints. Maintain weld lab machinery and equipment. Perform shop cleanup as required. .
Qualifications:
Student should have experience welding in a college (or equivalent) welding laboratory environment, or be enrolled and working in such environment concurrent with the work study schedule. Student must be familiar with welding laboratory safety practices and procedures. Work involves occasional bending, stooping and lifting of 40 pounds or less.

Health and Wellness Resource Aide
Job Description:
Run the Health and Wellness Resource Center reception area, and interact with the public who come to the office for resources; direct individuals to various health-related resources. Assist in publicizing events and health education issues. Staff info table at events. Clerical duties, such as updating materials, copying, filing, typing, and running errands around campus. Assist the Coordinator with various projects as assigned. Work independently after direction is provided.
Qualifications:
Physically able to get around campus to distribute publicity materials and run errands. Able to carry up to 10 pounds. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions, and to work VERY independently on assigned tasks. Clear speech and articulation of voice to interact with people. Basic computer skills. A sense of humor and enthusiasm desired.

Clerical Assistant for ESL Assessments
Job Description:
Assist a group facilitator with ESL students. You will be helping the students one-on-one by signing them in, handing out forms, and assisting students with filling out the forms and translating information as needed.
Qualifications:
Must have access to transportation between the Gresham and Maywood campuses for day and evening assessments. Must be able to work evenings. Attention to detail in a busy environment with completing and checking hours. Prefer someone bilingual in Spanish, Russian or Vietnamese.
Wage: $9.50/ hour

Career Center Assistant for WorkSource Portland Metro East
Job Description:
Assist customers at WorkSource Portland Metro East in the Career Center. Assist with computer use, solve basic problems with printing, log-in, selecting programs and accessing job search websites. Answer basic program questions and direct customers to appropriate staff for additional assistance. Learn to use and assist customers with iMatchSkills and adaptive software and equipment. Check job search library materials in and out. Straighten area and clean computer monitors and tables. Replace paper and toner in copiers, printers and fax. May sort job listings and file by category. May assist with resumes and cover letters.
Qualifications:
Good customer service skills, basic computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Office. Able to work independently serving a variety of customers. Able to maintain calm, professional attitude and appearance. Business casual dress code. Bilingual skills preferred.
Wage: $10.00/ hour
Shifts: Flexible shifts available Mon-Fri between 8am-5pm. Minimum two-hour shifts with a maximum of six hours a day.
