GED/ Basic Skills Development

What is the GED?

GED stands for General Educational Development. It is a battery of five tests administered nationally by the American Council on Education. The test includes:

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Math
  • Science
  • Social Studies

The Project YESS GED class is held Monday — Thursday from 9 A.M. to 12 Noon. Our class size is kept relatively small so that students receive individual attention. In addition to our GED Instructor, we also have a Learning Assistance Specialist for students needing a bit more individual help.

How long does it take to earn the GED?

We get this question frequently and the answer is, "It depends." It depends on a lot of factors, skill level, attendance, and motivation.
