Program Eligibility Requirements
Who may be eligible for the TRiO Student Support Services program:
- Students who are preparing to transfer to a 4-year college or university,
AND
- who are taking and completing a minimum of 9 credit hours per term (at least
¾ time status),
AND
- who are U.S. citizens or nationals of the United States or meet the residency
requirement for Federal student financial assistance,
AND
- who have a need for academic support due to any of the following:
- overall GPA below 2.49
- need to take any of the following skills-based reading, writing, or
math courses: RD90, RD115, WR90, WR115, MTH60, MTH65, MTH95
- out of school for 5 or more years
- earned a GED rather than a high school diploma
- have failing grades in core academic course work
- limited English proficiency
- low grades in required courses for competitive programs
AND
- who meet at least one of the following:
- federal low-income eligibility (highest priority)
- first generation college eligibility (neither parent has a bachelor’s
degree)
- disabled with documentation
