Important Dates:

Effective July 1, 2008, interest rates will
be lowered on FFELP loans taken out by July 1, 2006 AND similarly
for loans in the in-school grace period, deferment, repayment or
forbearance for loans first disbursed between July 1, 1998 and
June 30, 2006. Click HERE to

Apply for financial aid for the 2008-09 academic year (Summer 2008 Spring 2009) NOW to get the most aid possible for the year.

July 1, 2008 – This is the date loan experts say that borrowers who still have variable rate Stafford and PLUS loans should wait until to consolidate those loans.

As of July 1, 2008, just passed Congressional legislation will allow increased limits to Federal Stafford loans for both dependent and independent students for just a one year period. Eligible students would receive at most $2000 more of unsubsidized Stafford loan than the current limits.
