The Sustainable Building Advisor Training Program is offered through Mt Hood Community College’s Environmental Health and Safety program and the Office of Community and Professional Education. Located in the shadow of majestic Mount Hood, MHCC enrolls nearly 25,000 people annually. Classes are offered on the 200-acre main campus in Gresham, Oregon, as well as satellite campuses throughout the district.

The Environmental Health and Safety Program prepares students for jobs in the growing fields of environmental health and safety. Employment in the environmental field includes such jobs as program managers, regulatory officers, auditors, field and lab technicians, scientists, researchers, educators and trainers.

The Cascadia Region Green Building Council promotes the design, construction and operation of buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work in Oregon, Washington and British Columbia. The Cascadia Region Green Building Council is one of the inaugural chapters of the U.S. and Canada Green Building Councils. Incorporated in December 1999, the chapter covers Oregon, Washington and British Columbia, and is the only cross border chapter in North America. By June 2005, the chapter had 650 members, mostly companies or agencies that in turn represent hundreds or even thousands of individuals interested in a better way of building. Cascadia has offices in Portland and Seattle and plans to open a Vancouver office this year.
