examination of pre-Colombian civilizations, the Spanish Conquest, colonial
Mexico, the independence movements, and modern Mexico. The course emphasizes the
cultural, economic, and political aspects of Mexico history. This
course is offered in an independent study format. Proficiency Needed: Reading,
Writing.
