Intro to Clinical Practice I
- W This course introduces students to affective skills and behaviors needed for effective clinical practice. This includes the behavioral standards expected of healthcare professionals; an introduction to ethical and legal issues related to the practice of physical therapy; the patient/staff relationship and the various components of therapeutic communication; chronic illness/disability, the aging process and death/dying. The implications of child, elder, and sexual abuse and professional misconduct will also be discussed. Students are introduced to the clinical setting through clinical site visits.
