Course Description

WR123
English Composition: Research
This is the third course in a three-term sequence of college composition for students pursuing the AAOT who began the writing sequence with WR121 prior to summer 2010. While continuing the goals of WR121 and WR122, this course emphasizes skills needed to write the research essay. Students learn to formulate a research subject and to find, evaluate, and interpret information on that subject. They learn to distinguish between opinion and fact, to assert a thesis, and to present their findings and conclusions in a well-organized, carefully documented research paper. One long paper (2000-3000 words) and a shorter research essay are required. Offered at irregular intervals.
