Why Mt. Hood: When I was a little girl my mother taught at Mt. Hood's HPE department over the summer. I spent most of my summer vacation wandering the campus and enjoying MHCC's outdoor pool. The experiences I had gave me a positive memory of the college. Deciding to attend MHCC was an exciting decision. On top of the early awareness with the college, I also had many testimonials from alumni and instructors that MHCC is an exceptional college with caring staff & faculty.

Why I chose to be a student leader: My experience at MHCC has been sensational. My first year attending our college I found a second family through the Diversity Resource Center and the Club AAUW (American Association of University Women). I had an amazing support system which helped me thrive here on campus. Being a part of our Associated Student Government is a way I help pay it forward, so other students will be able to benefit from our campus resources as I have.

Each day on my way to MHCC: One of the best parts of my day is the morning drive to MHCC. The Columbia River Gorge is known for its beauty across the nation. If I’m not listening to OPB on my morning drive, then my ride is silent. I am instead taking in the spendor.

My music playlist includes: I listen to a variety of music depending on my mood, but the artists I listen to most are: Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, Celtic Woman, Mumford & Sons, Awol Nation, City and Color, Don Omar, Enrique Iglesias and Prince Royce.

After MHCC, I plan to: This will be my final year at Mt. Hood. I am aiming to continue my schooling the following year at Portland State University and graduate with a degree in architecture. I also have a dream of becoming a social activist one day to help others who do not have a voice to stand up for themselves.
