• MHCC Board Votes to Work on Five-Year Contract

At the Mt. Hood Community College District Board of Education meeting held March 20, the board rescinded its motion from the Jan. 16 meeting to grant Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB) a two-year contract extension accommodating its use of the college’s radio station license, KMHD.

In its place, the board passed a motion that instructed Dr. Lisa Skari, MHCC President, to work with OPB on a five-year contract extension, allowing OPB to continue providing broadcast programming on KMHD. The college will also retain its right to broadcast on the sub-frequency channel known as KMHD2.

President Skari and the KMHD campus committee will work closely with OPB, to begin negotiating the five-year contract extension.
