Mt. Hood Community College’s Visual Arts Gallery will showcase the artwork of young and emerging artists in its Annual Student Art Exhibit, a juried show with a tradition spanning two decades.
Beginning Monday, May 15, and ending Thursday, June 8, the student art exhibit includes art in a range of mediums, including paintings, ceramics, mixed media, sculptures, prints and drawings. All entries were judged on originality, technical skill,
composition and emergence of personal vision.
This year’s panel of judges included MHCC faculty members Joe Davis, ceramics instructor; Mary Girsch, 2-D art instructor; Matteo Neivert, painting instructor; Nathan Orosco, sculpture instructor; and Georganne Watters, printmaking and art history
instructor.
Many of the displayed artworks are for sale. An opening reception for the exhibit will be held Thursday, May 18, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The public is invited.
