Required class hours are scheduled in accordance with institutional and state policies for the granting of academic credit.
- In classes of longer duration than 50 minutes, a 10 minute break every hour or a 15 minute break every 75 minutes is good educational practice. Break periods should not be eliminated or accumulated in order to dismiss a class earlier than the official scheduled period.
- Laboratory classes normally assume a continuous level of activity with students breaking at convenient times.
