Course Description:
Students in this class receive instruction and lab assignments on disaster recovery (DR) and virtualization technologies (VT) which are directed to the creation of fundamental protocols necessary for the recovery and continuity of a business in the event of a severe cyber failure, disaster or attack. Training in this course can potentially lead to an ECCouncil
Certified DR Professional (E | CDR) or ECCouncil
Certified VT Professional (E | CVT) certification.
Outcomes:
- Identify risks to an organization's cyber environment
- Differentiate cyber risks of a large organization from those of a small company, clinic, or Small Office / Home Office (SOHO)
- Identify specific laws and acts both foreign and domestic related to business continuity
- Develop an appropriate Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity (DR/BC) implementation plan
- Construct a BC Management structure which contains a Business Continuity Plan, a Crisis Communication Plan, an Emergency Response
Plan, and a Contingency Plan appropriate for a small to medium size business
- Differentiate between backup strategies
- Identify data storage technologies appropriate for secure data backups
- Investigate existing industry software and tools which support competent continuity strategies
