SHS143 :  Environmental Science Lab I: EPA Methodology Lab and Sampling

This course covers analytical and sampling methods that have been evaluated and approved for use in complying with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and they are approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for obtaining data to satisfy the requirements of 40 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations), Part 122 through 270. These methods function primarily as a guidance document setting forth acceptable, although not required, methods for the regulated and regulatory communities to use in responding to RCRA-related sampling and analysis requirements. Procedures for handling samples to ensure proper preservation and compliance with the QA/QC programs are presented in detail.
Prerequisite: CH104 or equivalent; or instructor consent.
