SHS201 :  Environmental Health and Safety Regulations II

SHS201 summarizes the regulatory and legal requirements associated with the Federal Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA), Comprehensive Environment Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), Toxic Release Information (TRI) and the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). This course underscores the critical impact of accurate and complete records upon the overall success of environmental and hazardous waste management programs. The basic elements of compliance auditing and examples of commonly required regulatory reports, forms and record keeping are introduced. Oregon's requirements will be the model presented in class whenever possible.
Prerequisite: RD090, WR090 and MTH020, each with a grade of "C" or better; or placement above stated course levels.
