• Mt. Hood's Luke Anderson signs with Mid America Nazarene

  • Luke AndersonThe future is looking bright for Luke Anderson. The Mt. Hood Community College sophomore forward will moving on to the next level. Anderson signed his letter of intent to play next season at Mid-America Nazarene University, in Olathe, Kansas. He committed to Mid-America Nazarene in February.

Anderson came to Mt. Hood after a solid career at Post Falls High School in Idaho. Last season, Anderson worked hard on and off the court to have a successful sophomore year. Starting in most of the games this season, Anderson's 13.1 points per game, shooting 51 percent from the floor, 43 percent from 3-point range and 69 percent from the free-throw line was valuable to the success of our team. He also averaged 7.9 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game.

Anderson completed his sophomore year with Honorable Mention honors and was selected as an NWAC All-Star after helping the Saints make an Elite 8 appearance in the NWAC Championship Tournament. Now continuing his career at a winning program and one of the top NAIA programs in the nation, Mid America Nazarene Head Coach Rocky Lamar explains "we are very excited to be able to bring in a player that has the experience as Luke does. With his consistent work ethic and high on and off the court intelligence, I think all coaches want to coach a kid like this. Very fortunate to get a kid like this through my long time relationship with Coach Bowie."
