  • 2016-17 Men’s Basketball Outlook

The coaching staff is very excited about our current training camp and have been very encouraged by the energy, effort and enthusiasm exhibited by our players. This year Saints are returning a solid group of experienced players and team leaders. The Saints have two returning starters Cannon Dwyre (6’7 post/wing) and Cody Thompson (6’6 wing/post) along with three returning players with a lot of playing experience in the NWAC, Mak Hutson (5’9 point guard), Trent Baker (6’1 wing/guard) and Luke Anderson (post/wing 6’4). The Saints have two returning redshirt freshman, Steven Fair (6’3 wing) and Wes Persinger (6’7 post). The new additions to this year’s Saints Team included John Tibbs (5’10 point guard), Elijah Fuller (6’0 sophomore), Payton Fullmer (6’1 guard), Conner Geiger (6’5 wing/forward), Preston Anderson (6’6 post), and Ganiyu Dauda (6’4 wing/ forward).

The coaching staff feels really good about this year’s team depth, willingness to sacrifice for the team and the pride these young men have made towards each other and the Saints program. All of our incoming players are extremely dedicated to the process of success and are making outstanding strides in their individual and team game. Their daily contributions have been outstanding and are continually pushing us to become better players and teammates.

The Saints have also added two outstanding coaches. Nate Bowie former coach from Allen Community College in Kansas and Jeremy Vandenboer from Corbin University in Salem, Oregon. Both of these coaches bring a tremendous amount of knowledge in recruiting and coaching.
