  • What is STEP Apprenticeship all about?

    The STEP Apprenticeship program prepares participants for paid apprenticeships in the trades by offering coaching, navigation, and a variety of different support services.

    Who is eligible?

    It is free to enroll for STEP Apprenticeship.  Participants must be:

    • 18 years or older
    • SNAP eligible
    • Not receiving TANF
    • Not enrolled in high school

    What’s in it for participants?

    • One on one coaching to develop an educational plan that prepares students to apply for apprenticeship programs.
    • Educational plans may include English as a Second Language classes, GED/Adult Basic Education classes, certified pre-Apprenticeship programs and other prerequisites to paid apprenticeships.
    • Trades career exploration, resume development, interview skills, and job search assistance.
    • Support in obtaining a debt-free education.
    • Financial assistance may include work clothes, tools, tuition, books, transportation, and more.
