Surgical Technology - Program Details

This program mixes classes in surgical technology with anatomy and physiology to prepare you to work in surgical settings. Those interested in this career must be detail-oriented because mistakes could be life-threatening. You must work well under pressure and have great communication skills.

Accreditation

The surgical technology program at Mt. Hood Community College is accredited by the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARC/STSA).

Program Outcomes

After completing this program you'll be able to:

Courses and Curriculum

Through this program you’ll be immersed in courses about surgical technology. Before you graduate, you will take the national certification exam provided by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
