  • Mission

    The Teaching and Learning Center’s mission is to build a welcoming community of educators focused on identifying and sharing best practices for student success.  The TLC will provide a supportive atmosphere where the campus community can explore instructional methods and techniques as well as new technologies.

     

    Goals

    1. Investigate best practices in teaching, which are designed to increase student success, retention and completion.
    2. Design and implement events, activities, seminars and other associated learning opportunities to present information and training to educators in support of student success, retention and completion.
    3. Provide an environment where educators can explore and learn new technologies, techniques, and instructional methods, which will help students appropriately engage in the learning process.

    • March 2nd, 12-1pm: Looking Beyond Cost - Social Justice and OER. Facilitated by Marco Seiferle-Valencia, OER Librarian at University of Idaho Library
    • March 4th 7-8:30pm: A Discussion on James Baldwin's Novel, "Another Country". Facilitated by Don Anderson as a part of Mt. Hood Reads
    • March 5th, 1-2pm: Quality Matters (QM), why it’s key to review your course through the eyes of a student. Facilitated by Online Learning
    • March 8th, 1-2pm: Using Flipgrid in Your Classroom. Facilitated by Edie Overturf, Printmaking & Drawing Instructor, John Hasegawa, Ceramics Instructor, Dan Davey, Director of Jazz Studies/Music Instructor and Kevin Lambert, Choral Director/Music Instructor
