MHCC Board of Education Minutes: Session 1116

A meeting of the Mt. Hood Community College District Board of Education was held on January 13, 2025, with a Board Work Session at 6:00 p.m., held via Zoom.

1.0 Call to Order

• Members Present: Diane McKeel, board chair, Andrew Speer, board vice chair, Annette Mattson, Diane Noriega, Dana Stroud, Marie Teune, ShaToyia Bentley
• Members Absent: None
• College Representatives: Lisa Skari, president, Roxanne Richardson, board executive assistant
• Additional Attendees: Jeremy Wright, president, Wright Public Affairs, Maggie Simich, senior analyst, Patinkin Research Strategies

Chair Diane McKeel called the work session to order at 6:08 p.m. and declared a quorum was present.

2.0 Business

2.1 Bond Discussion
Jeremy Wright and Maggie Simich went over recent bond polling results, received from early January 2025 polling, and answered questions from the Board. The Board will be conducting an official vote at their next regular board meeting on January 15, 2025, to determine if the bond will move ahead to ballot for the May 20, 2025 special election.

2.2 Board Agreements and Guiding Principles
President Skari presented a draft of principles and agreements that will help guide the work of board members. Board members asked questions and provided feedback. President Skari will work on a second draft, that will incorporate feedback, to be revisited at a future board meeting.
