AR 2411: Authorization for Board Policy and Administrative Regulation Technical Edits

To establish a streamlined process for making non-substantive, technical edits to board policies (BP) and administrative regulations (AR), the full review process established in Board Policy 2410 and Administrative Regulation 2410 may be bypassed in limited circumstances.

Non-substantive, technical edits are permitted and limited to the following:

  • Correction of typographical errors (e.g., spelling, grammar, punctuation).
  • Updates to references, citations, or hyperlinks to ensure accuracy.
  • Consistent formatting adjustments (e.g., numbering, indentation, font style).
  • Changes to reflect updated terminology, as long as the intent of the policy remains unchanged.
  • Revisions to reflect changes in official titles, organizational structure, or contact information.

The president has the responsibility for initiating the edit(s) and will assign the edit(s) to the appropriate vice president for review. If the vice president concurs with the president, the president will communicate the edit(s) to council co-chairs and President’s Cabinet. The Board of Education will be notified of any technical edits made to board policy.

Any proposed change that may alter the substance or intent of a policy must undergo the full policy and administrative regulation review process as defined in BP 2410 and AR 2410. Stakeholders retain the right to request a review of any edit they believe exceeds the scope of a technical change. The request for review should be submitted to the president within 10 working days of technical edit notification.
