AR 6800: Occupational Safety

Mt. Hood Community College is committed to providing a safe campus for all who occupy and work at our locations and those remote while engaging in college-sponsored activities and events. To accomplish this, the college has integrated an occupational health and safety management system to increase institutional effectiveness and engagement in safety-related needs and events. This system is accessible through and maintained by the college’s environmental health and safety department.

The Occupation Health and Safety management system is designed to:

  • Satisfy compliance with legal and other requirements
  • Facilitate communication and expectations on hazard identification and controls
  • Support safe, equitable, and sustainable environmental and work practices
  • Provide a framework for evaluation and monitoring of the system
  • Allow ease of integration and use amongst institutional departments
  • Align the programmatic objectives with the hazards, risks, and opportunities within the institution.
  • Establish commitment from all levels to participate in and advance the associated program and activities related to occupational safety and environmental health.
