Literature and Language Arts

MHCC's English department hosts literary events throughout the year! Join us for book clubs, readings, and more.

Mt. Hood Reads

Do you want to read more books, but can never find the motivation to make it happen? Find yourself constantly glued to your phone? Reclaim your mind and free time by signing up for Mt. Hood Reads, a free, virtual, and in-person event, open to the public. The Mt. Hood Reads community includes the Mt. Hood Community College administration, faculty, staff, students, and community members.

This year we'll examine retellings and reimaginings of classic novels, like Percival Everett's James and John Gardner's Grendel. Email Don Anderson for more information.

Mouths of Others

Throughout the year we'll host readings, workshops, and events featuring a variety of authors on different topics. Join us and explore award-winning literature and engage in thought-provoking conversations.

Email Michele Hampton for more information!
