The Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) Aquatic Center welcomes all MHCC students and staff as well as community members.

Aquatics for Students and Staff

The MHCC Aquatic Center gives students and staff a place to get fit, wind down, and connect with other members of the college and community. Current students and staff may use the pools for free during the public lap swim and open recreation swim times. Take a look at our schedule below.

Community Members

As a community member, come to the MHCC Aquatic Center and learn to swim, practice your skills, and get fit. Programs include swim lessons, water exercise classes and opportunities to train on your own during lap swim.

Swim Lessons and Certification Courses

Swim lessons are offered for ages 8 months through adult. The indoor Learner and 25-yard pools offer the widest range of water temperatures and depths of any facility in East County. All classes are taught by American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors.

If your career path is in sports or childhood education, we have positions to help you develop the skills you need for your program and future career! Examples of the types of opportunities we offer are listed below.

Lifeguard

This position helps keep everyone at our facility safe. It requires the completion of an American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification course, which is a great way to advance your leadership and swimming skills.

Water Safety Instructor

Teach swim lessons in the largest swim lesson program in East County. This program offers lessons from 8 months of age through adult. Earn your certification as an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor.

Customer Service Representative

Greet the customers as the first contact in the facility. This position handles cash and card transactions, registrations, memberships and point of sale.
