Fitness Professional
At Mt. Hood Community College, our fitness professional certificate program gives you the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to become a fitness trainer. Trainers guide, instruct, and motivate clients to pursue health goals through exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle changes. As a fitness trainer, you can work in health and fitness facilities, corporations, or as a private instructor.
The Experience
Program Details
Our courses cover nutrition, proper exercise techniques and training instruction, health and fitness assessments, designing fitness programs, and more. You will also take a first aid and CPR certification, as well as take a national fitness trainer certification exam.
Your future
Job opportunities include fitness or athletic trainer, wellness coordinator, and more.
How To Get Started
You can start the fitness professional program during any term. Students admitted to MHCC can sign up for classes in the program after reading, writing, and math placement requirements have been met.
