Fitness Professional - After Graduation
The demand for fitness professionals continues to rise and there are many different roles you can play in helping someone improve their health and wellness.
Future Careers
MHCC Career Coaches are here to help you explore your career options after graduation. Below are a few common paths graduates can pursue.
Exercise Trainers and Group Fitness Instructors
As an exercise trainer or group fitness instructor, you will observe participants, inform them of corrective measures necessary for skill improvement, and evaluate their abilities, needs, and physical conditions while developing suitable training programs to meet any special requirements.
Fitness and Wellness Coordinators
If you become a fitness or wellness coordinator, your daily tasks will include developing or coordinating fitness and wellness programs or services and recommending or approving new programs or service offerings to promote wellness and fitness, increase revenues, or minimize costs.
Self-Enrichment Teachers
As a self-enrichment teacher, you will prepare students for further development by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks. You will observe them to determine qualifications, limitations, abilities, interests, and other individual characteristics.
Athletic Trainers
As an athletic trainer, you will evaluate an athlete's readiness to play and provide participation clearances when necessary. You will also perform general administrative tasks like keeping records or writing reports.
