Graphic Designers

As a graphic designer, you will determine the size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy and select the style and size of type. You will create designs, concepts, and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and esthetic design concepts.

Desktop Publishers

If you are a desktop publisher, you are responsible for positioning text and art elements from various databases in a visually appealing way to design print or web pages.

Art Directors

As an art director, you will confer with creative, art, copywriting, or production department heads to discuss client requirements and presentation concepts and to coordinate creative activities.

Web and Digital Interface Designers

In roles like these, you conduct user research to determine design requirements and analyze user feedback to improve design quality. You will also confer with management or development teams to prioritize needs, resolve conflicts, develop content criteria, or choose solutions.

Special Effects Artists and Animators

In these roles, you make objects or characters appear lifelike by manipulating light, color, texture, shadow, and transparency. You also apply story development, directing, cinematography, and editing to animation to create storyboards that show the flow of the animation and map out key scenes and characters.

Web Developers

If you become a web developer, you will be responsible for developing databases that support web applications and websites. You also perform Web site tests according to planned schedules or after any website or product revision.
