Donate Food to Barney’s Pantry and Receive Half Off Your Meal at Vista
Posted: October 24, 2012
Bring two non-perishable, non-expired food items to Vista Dining at Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) during November and December and receive a 50 percent discount on that day’s special entrée. Vista is open Monday – Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Chartwell’s, the company that manages Vista, will donate the food to Barney’s Pantry, a service operated by the Associated Student Government (ASG) of MHCC. Students in need can receive up to three items of food or hygiene products per day for free.
“MHCC really is a family, and families help each other when times get tough," says William Miller, ASG president. “I’ve had several students come to me in distress, unsure where their next meal will come from. At the end of the day it’s wonderful to know you can help someone with such a simple service.”
Barney’s Pantry is open Monday-Friday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., and Monday-Thursday 5 – 7 p.m.
