Anthropology and Archeology Teachers, Postsecondary
In these roles, your daily tasks will include conducting research in a particular field of knowledge and presenting those findings in professional journals, books, electronic media, or at professional conferences. You will also need to keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional meetings.
Curators
As a Curator, you will develop and maintain an institution's registration, cataloging, and basic record-keeping systems using computer databases. You will also plan and conduct special research projects in areas of interest or expertise.
Museum Technicians and Conservators
In these roles, you will be responsible for cleaning objects, such as paper, textiles, wood, metal, glass, rock, pottery, and furniture, using cleansers, solvents, soap solutions, and polishes, and you will photograph objects for documentation.
Compliance Managers
As a Compliance Manager, you will do tasks such as filing appropriate compliance reports with regulatory agencies and maintaining documentation of compliance activities, such as complaints received or investigation outcomes.
Anthropologists and Archeologists
In roles such as these, you are responsible for collecting artifacts made of stone, bone, metal, and other materials, placing them in bags, and marking them to show where they were found. You will also study objects and structures recovered by excavation sites to identify, date, and authenticate them and to interpret their significance.
Geographers
As a Geographer, you will study the economic, political, and cultural characteristics of a specific region's population and collect data on physical characteristics of specified areas, such as geological formations, climates, and vegetation, using surveying or meteorological equipment.
