NECA-IBEW Electrical Training Center

MHCC partners with the Portland-based NECA-IBEW Electrical Training Center to offer three apprenticeship programs in electrical work.

Inside Electrical

Apprentices perform electrical construction, maintenance, repair, and service. They work on electrical construction projects ranging from single-family residences to state-of-the-art industrial plants. They install conduits and wire lighting, switches, converters, and complex computerized systems. Inside apprentices are trained toward a general journeyman electrician license which allows them to do all forms of electrical construction.

Limited Energy Apprenticeships

Apprentices train to meet the requirements of a Limited Energy-A Technician license. The test covers a wide variety of low-voltage applications including voice, data, video, and alarms. Common applications also include nurse call, security, paging, multi-media, and fiber optic installations.

Residential Energy Apprenticeships

Through this program, apprentices earn a Limited Residential Electrician License. This allows them to wire houses and apartments. This includes all parts of the dwelling from home theater to security and network cabling.
