  • MHCC Foundation Scholarships

Higher education is beyond reach for many Oregonians. The Mt. Hood Community College Foundation awards scholarships every year to students who may not otherwise afford an education.

    Applying for Scholarships

    How to Apply

Applying is easy! Follow these steps to be automatically considered for hundreds of scholarships.

    1. Complete the scholarship application
The scholarship application opens January 2018. Applications are due March 2018. The application button will be on this page, so check back in January. Want to get started early? First apply for admission, then start working on your essays - see the "How to prepare" for more.
    2. Complete the FAFSA
Complete the FAFSA as soon after January 1 as possible. If you are an international student or not eligible to complete the FAFSA, complete the Financial Need Worksheet [doc] and upload it in the application.
    How to Prepare

Start working on these pieces right away. When you complete your scholarship application, you'll have everything you need! Check back late fall for Scholarship Workshop dates.

    • Find two references
References can be teachers, faculty, staff, mentors, coaches, employers, etc. The application will send an automated email to your references, but you may want to let your references know beforehand to expect a request.
    • Get a copy of your unofficial transcript (new students only)
Only high school seniors and transfer students need to submit an unofficial transcript. Eventually transfer students will need to provide an official transcript to registration in order for credits to be applied to your official academic record.
    Who Can Apply
    • Any MHCC student, or any student who plans to attend MHCC, can apply. We have scholarships for students in all kinds of programs, students of all ages and from all kinds of backgrounds.

    Not yet an MHCC student?
If you're not an MHCC student, complete an admissions application. The application is free and does not commit you to coming to MHCC. After you complete the application, you'll receive an email with instructions on how to log in to your account and check your student email, which is how we'll be communicating with you.
