Apply for Financial Aid
Applying for financial aid is an important step for most students to ensure that you have the financial support needed to complete your studies at MHCC. Meeting all of the dates and deadlines is necessary to ensure that you get the support you need.
How to Apply for Financial Aid
Applying for financial aid can feel like a complicated process, but MHCC staff are here to help you with completing your Federal Application for Student Aid (FAFSA®) or Oregon Student Aid Application (ORSAA). See Applications Steps for more details.
After applying, monitor MyMHCC and your Saints email for updates and any needed documentation. It can take two to three weeks for your application to come through to the college. You will be notified by Saints email when we receive your aid application, when your aid package is ready, or if additional information is needed. Typically, we start awarding aid for the new year by mid-May. We appreciate your patience!
Dates and Deadlines
It’s important that you meet all deadlines to ensure that you get the maximum amount of aid possible to help you on your academic journey. If you miss deadlines, financial aid may not be available until after the start of the term. Keep checking your account for missing documents and turn them in as soon as possible. Take the time to learn more about the dates and deadlines for financial aid.

Plan ahead because it can take up to six weeks to complete all the steps outlined above. A payment plan option is available through MHCC in the case that deadlines are missed.
Remember that you must file your FAFSA® application or ORSAA application every year. Applications open in October. If you need help checking the status of your aid, please stop by the student services hub.
