Ford ASSET - Program Details

If you have an interest in the automotive industry, this may be the program for you. ASSET requires a commitment to both work and study for two years. When you graduate, the program provides competent, professional technicians for Ford dealerships.

Hands-on Learning

Mt. Hood Community College is offering this opportunity in partnership with the Ford Motor Company. The program can prepare you for various positions in the automotive field by giving you hands-on practice in both our auto shop on campus and at your sponsoring Ford dealership.

Program Outcomes

After completing this program you'll be able to:

  • Demonstrate safe shop practices and hazardous material handling.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and repair engine performance systems.
  • Diagnose and repair emission systems.
  • Diagnose and repair internal combustion engine systems.
  • Diagnose and repair automatic transmission and transaxle systems.
  • Diagnose and repair manual drivetrain and axles systems.
  • Diagnose and repair brake systems.
  • Diagnose and repair automotive steering, suspension systems, heating, and air conditioning systems.
  • Perform minor vehicle services.

Courses and Curriculum

The courses in the Ford ASSET program combine in-class learning with hands-on experience. You’ll also need to complete general education classes, which can be completed in any term.
