Certified Welder Certificate - Program Details

In the certified welder certificate program, you'll learn basic welding techniques and safety. As you move forward, you'll dive deeper into understanding metals and advanced welding methods. Program Outcomes

After completing this program you'll be able to:

  • Always ensure safety and regularly check your welding tools.
  • Identify different welding equipment and learn their roles.
  • Understand and follow blueprints when making and inspecting items.
  • Set up and use welding and cutting tools (like oxy-fuel) effectively.
  • Learn and do welding for iron-like and other metals.
  • Know different wires, gases, and currents for various main metals.
  • Master various welding methods.
  • Weld steel based on blueprint guidelines.
  • Examine welds for any issues and know how to correct them.
  • Ensure your welds meet AWS standards.

Courses and Curriculum

In this program, you’ll learn everything you need to know to be a competent welder. This certificate can be completed in 19 credit hours and includes classwork and practical experience. Students are required to maintain a minimum grade of “C” in all IMTL courses. The certified welder program is not financial aid eligible. However, the related degree program, integrated metals associate degree and the welding technology certificate are aid eligible.
