Machinist Certificate - Program Details

In the machinist program, you’ll dive into the world of manufacturing. You’ll pick up the know-how to read blueprints and bring them to life with precision. You’ll get your hands on drills, lathes, and more. You’ll also master the tech that commands machines to cut and shape metal to perfection.

  • Show and explain safe ways to work and how to handle environmental concerns in today's factories.

  • Use measuring tools right to get precise results in making things.
  • Create items using manual drill presses, lathes, and milling machines.
  • Get to know how to explain and apply CNC code.

Courses and Curriculum

In this program, you’ll learn everything you need to know to be a competent worker as a machinist. This certificate can be completed in 40 credit hours and includes classwork and practical experience. All courses must be completed with a "C" grade or higher and must be completed within five years in order to be awarded the certificate. Minimal computer literacy is required.
