Sign up for classes
After completing the placement requirements, you can sign up for classes. First-term students should sign up for these classes:
- IMTL120 SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding/Stick) Theory (two credits)
- IMTL121 SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding/Stick) Lab (three credits)
- IMTL124 Blueprint Reading for Welding Applications (three credits)
- IMTL171 Welding Certificate Program Lab I (one credit)

Additional Program Costs
In addition to Mt. Hood Community College tuition, fees, and textbooks, there is a Required Tool List you’ll need to purchase to complete your coursework. These tools will be yours to keep when you start your career. Several of the courses in this program also require an additional fee, most under $100.
Textbooks per term can range from $600-$1000, and can be purchased online through the college bookstore.
