Certified Maintenance Technician Certificate - Program Details
Are you interested in a career as an electro-mechanical technician? Or how about as a robot technician? Those and more are available when you earn your certified maintenance technician certificate from Mt. Hood Community College. The certificate can be completed in as little as one year. You’ll learn about mechanical and electrical systems to prepare you for jobs as a maintenance technician. You’ll also be ready for further education in mechatronics if you choose to pursue it.

This program will teach you the basic mechanical and electrical systems used in industrial settings, and how to repair them.Program Outcomes

- Read and interpret industrial schematics.
- Demonstrate intermediate-level knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Describe and perform basic machining processes on ferrous metals.
- Use hand and shop tools effectively to complete common maintenance tasks.
- Identify and use appropriate test equipment.
Courses and Curriculum
Courses include topics such as manual machine tools, alternating current and direct current (AC/DC), motor controls, and more. The program takes 38 credits to complete. You must complete courses with a "C" grade or better, which you must complete within five years to receive the certificate.
