Interpreters and Translators
As an Interpreter or Translator, you must follow ethical codes that protect the confidentiality of information. You will translate messages into Japanese orally while maintaining message content, context, and style as much as possible.
Tour Guides
As a Tour Guide, you will take individuals or groups on cruises, sightseeing tours, or through places of interest, such as industrial establishments, public buildings, or art galleries. You will monitor their activities to ensure compliance with establishment or tour regulations and safety practices.
Travel Guides
As a Travel Guide, you are expected to resolve any problems with itineraries, service, or accommodations and attend to the unique needs of tour participants.
Foreign Language and Literature Teachers, Postsecondary
You will initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions in these roles. You will also prepare and deliver lectures to undergraduate or graduate students on topics such as speaking and writing a foreign language and the cultural aspects of areas where a particular language is used.
Secondary School Teachers, Except Special and Career/Technical Education
In this role, you will adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' needs and interests. You also must maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
