
Steps to Apply for International Students
Thank you for your interest in MHCC! MHCC offers over 120 academic programs that are open to international students. This includes learning English, technical career programs, and ones designed to help you transfer to a university. We also offer chances to join student government, clubs, sports, and other activities. At Mt. Hood Community College, we take pride in the fact that our students receive caring, personal attention to help you every step of the way at MHCC. We have agreements with all our state universities, so all of our students who earn a transfer degree can get into any state university.
If you’re ready to get started at MHCC, follow the application steps below.
STEP 1: Submit Your International Student Application
Complete and submit your application online. Please be aware that the application for international students is different from the application for other students. Use the link below to complete the right application if you are an international student.
The Spring 2025 deadline for new students is March 1, 2025.

STEP 2: Send Your Supporting Documents
Along with your application, please submit the following documents that support your application. You can upload and attach these documents to the application itself or send them through email after you've applied.
- Financial Information (official bank statement and affidavit of support)
- Passport photo and signature page(s) (copy)
- $50 non-refundable application fee
If you are transferring from a U.S. college or university, you also need to submit:
- F-1 visa (copy)
- Current I-20 (copy)
- Official transcript(s) from all previously attended US institutions and transfer evaluation request

STEP 3: Take the Free College Placement Test
No TOEFL/IELTS score is required! Students must take an English placement test through MHCC before registering for classes. Students transferring from a US high school, college, or university may not need the college placement test.
