Federal TRIO Programs (TRIO)

TRIO is a set of federally funded college programs. It supports first-generation and low-income students, students with disabilities, and veterans who want to earn a college degree. Since it enacted by Congress in 1965, TRIO has served more than 850,000 students in more than 2,800 TRIO programs across the country!

TRIO programs provide tutoring, counseling, mentoring, financial guidance, and other support to improve retention and accessibility. TRIO programs provide direct support services for students and training for staff.

Mt. Hood Community College is proud to host two TRIO programs: Educational Talent Search and Student Support Services. Student Support Services and Educational Talent Search. Student Support Services supports first-generation and low-income students, students with disabilities, and veterans who want to earn a college degree. Educational Talent Search is dedicated to making college dreams a reality for youth in East Multnomah County.

Oregon Promise

This grant pays community college student tuition for eligible high school graduates and GED recipients. Continued funding for this program is dependent upon funding from the Oregon Legislature. The link below has updated information.
