  • Burres, McWhorter, and 2000 NWAC Championship Baseball Team Highlight NWAC Hall of Fame Ceremony

    Former player and coaches, Brian Burres and Meadow McWhorter highlighted the 2022 NWAC Hall of Fame Ceremony.  After starring at Mt. Hood, Burres played 16 years in professional baseball before returning to serve as an assistant coach for the Saints in 2017 and 2018.  McWhorter who still holds several Saint records returned to Mt. Hood after collegiate career was over to serve as the head softball coach.  McWhorter won seven Southern Region Championships  and five NWAC Championships.  She was also named NWAC Coach of the Year and her staff earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Coaching Staff of the year three times. McWhorter is now the head coach for the Portland State Vikings.  In addition to Burres and McWhorter, the Saints 2000 NWAC Championship Baseball team earned their way into the Hall of Fame as well.  Four players went on to play professional baseball including Burres and six players went on to play Division I.
